Imagination devices
Audio, lighting and video have been in use to let imagination run wild for centuries. In recent decades the possibilities have become practically unlimited due to the rise of (computer) technology in the audiovisual world. A world in which technology has come to play a leading role, in which digital technologies have become 'imagination devices'. The complexity has grown along with it.

Communication
The imagination devices speak a different language than ours. To make all these devices talk to each other, specialized software and hardware are often needed. To then make all these devices run a show, exhibition, film or live performance, knowledge of system integration and show control programming is required. In addition, approaching this from a creative angle, adding depth and imagination to the story, is very valuable.

Innovation and creation
Unlimited creativity is great; it can produce the most beautiful stories. Sometimes this creativity runs up against limits because an application or technology does not exist or is out of reach due to budget constraints. A creative thinker and creator can then be of great value by creating hardware and software that makes the impossible possible and attainable.
